Meet the Company of ONE FLEA SPARE by Naomi Wallace

FUSION Theatre Company is proud to introduce the company of ONE FLEA SPARE by Naomi Wallace, directed by FUSION Co-Founder Laurie Thomas. The cast features Jacqueline Reid, David Sinkus, Matthew Van Wettering, and Jayce Ross. We also welcome Arron Shiver back to the boards since his turn as “Stanley” in FUSION’s 2003 production of A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE.

LAURIE THOMAS*^ (Director) is co-founder and co-artistic chair of FUSION. She is a director, actor, educator, and writer. Her professional credits for acting and directing include work at Berkeley Shakespeare Festival, Theater Rhinoceros, Alice B. Theatre, Book-It Repertory Theatre, Samuel French Off Off Broadway Festival, Northwest Asian American Theatre, On the Boards, A Contemporary Theatre, Southwest Repertory Theatre, The Provincetown Tennessee Williams Festival, Berkeley Stage Company, The Empty Space, and Bay Area Playwrights Festival. Her most recent work at FUSION includes directing NATIVE GARDENS; playing “Hazel” in THE CHILDREN and “Mom” in TRUE WEST; and conceiving & directing not LOST but FOUND in TRANSLATION for the Albuquerque Museum.


JACQUELINE REID*^ (Darcy Snelgrave) is a founding member of FUSION. Lead acting roles include WITCH, MS. HOLMES AND MS. WATSON-APT. #2B, TWO-CHARACTER PLAY, A DOLL’S HOUSE PART 2, HEISENBERG, OLD TIMES, THE 39 STEPS, THE HOMECOMING, THE OTHER PLACE, CLYBOURNE PARK, OTHER DESERT CITIES, TIME STANDS STILL, GOD OF CARNAGE, AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY, A LOVELY SUNDAY FOR CREVE COEUR, PARLOUR SONG, SUDDENLY LAST SUMMER, HEDDA GABLER, THE GLASS MENAGERIE, A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, CLOSER, and CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF. ARRON SHIVER* (Bunce) is an actor, director, screenwriter, and singer-songwriter from Taos, New Mexico. For the last twenty years, he has played a wide variety of roles in film and television, notably “Dean O’Banion” on HBO’s BOARDWALK EMPIRE, and a recurring role on the Netflix hit LONGMIRE. In the feature world, most recently, he appeared in James Mangold’s FORD V. FERRARI, and the Searchlight picture HOLD YOUR BREATH, opposite Sarah Paulson. He received his BFA in Acting from California Institute of the Arts in 2001. ONE FLEA SPARE marks his second production with FUSION (the first as “Stanley” in A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE in 2003), and his return to the theatre after a 6-year hiatus.


DAVID SINKUS* (William Snelgrave) is excited to be back at FUSION! Most recently David was seen as “Vanya” in UNCLE VANYA. Also at FUSION, THE SEVEN, “Friend Ed” in BURNING BRIGHT, and “Angus” in THE REAL INSPECTOR HOUND. Other roles include “Richard” in TIME STANDS STILL at The Adobe Rose Theatre, “Sharky” in THE SEAFARER and the “Cabdriver” in HELLCAB for Mother Road Theatre Company. While in NYC, David originated the roles of “Bart/Tom/Carl” in the Off-Broadway musical JOHNNY GUITAR at the Century Theatre.  In addition, he toured Italy, Lebanon, and Japan in the La Scala Opera’s production of WEST SIDE STORY.  David’s US National and Canadian tours include “Norman Petty” in THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY and “Officer Krupke” in WEST SIDE STORY. David has performed in regional theatres all over the country, including La Mirada Center for the Performing Arts in LA, The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in MN, Pennsylvania Stage Company, and in Chicago at The Court Theater, Remains Theatre, and Victory Gardens Theatre. David is on the Performing Arts Faculty at Albuquerque Academy and is the host of WEEKNIGHTS WITH DAVID on Classical 95.5 KHFM.


MATTHEW VAN WETTERING* (Kabe) attended the University of Wyoming as a theatre major. He is a graduate of The Upright Citizens Brigade (LA), The Impro Theatre (LA) and The Box (ABQ). Theatre credits include “Chris Keller” in ALL MY SONS (Adobe Theatre), “Christopher Wren” in MOUSETRAP (ALT), “Anitpholous of Syracuse” in THE COMEDY OF ERRORS (NM Shakespeare Festival), “Oscar Claude Monet” in DEFYING GRAVITY (Mother Road), “John” and “The Major” in SEPARATE TABLES (West End), “Kenneth” in THE NIGHT ALIVE (FUSION), and many more. Film credits include THE COMMANDO, 12 STRONG, ONLY THE BRAVE, HIGHLY FUNCTIONAL, EL CAMINO: A BREAKING BAD MOVIE, FAST COLOR, A MOTHER'S CRIME, THIRD ACT, and BIG KILL. Television credits include THE NIGHT SHIFT, PREACHER, MANHATTAN, and GET SHORTY. He has had recurring roles on BRIARPATCH, ROSWELL, LONGMIRE, MIDNIGHT TX, and GUNSLINGERS.  You can now see him as “Wade” in Season 3 of DARK WINDS. He is a Vivian Award and Orley Award winner and has been working on ABQ stages since 2010.


JAYCE ROSS (Morse). New Mexico born and raised, Jayce is thrilled to be returning to FUSION Theatre Company and to the Land of Enchantment. She is a recent graduate from Boston University's School of Theatre, holding a BFA in Theatre Arts with a concentration in Choreography and Movement. Recent credits include THE TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA, UNIVERSAL MOTHER, SACRED SOIL, THE SKRIKER, YERMA, SENSE AND SENSIBILITY, and SLOW VIOLENCE. Jayce was last seen at FUSION in the 2019 workshop production of THE UNFORGETTABLE, written and directed by Laurie Thomas.

Performances will be on Thursdays & Fridays at 7 PM, Saturdays at 2 PM & 7 PM, and Sundays at 3 PM. Opening night features a pre-show reception with doors opening one hour before curtain. Additional performances will be at Taos Center for the Arts on Saturday, November 29, at 7 PM and Sunday, November 30, at 2 PM.
