New Mexico StageWorks
PLAY-IN-A-DAY

ONE-DAY IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE | SATURDAY, JANUARY 3 | 9 AM–7:00 PM | EIGTH GRADE–SENIORS (~13–18) | $ 50

New Mexico StageWorks is bringing Play-In-A-Day to FUSION on Saturday, January 3, from 8:30 AM–7 PM. Work as a team to create a play in ONE day. You will participate in everything from writing the script to costuming, tech, and performing!

Play-In-A-Day will kick off with ice-breakers and group assignments (group size and number of groups depends on the attendence). Groups will then pick an envelope with their required lines and choose their props. All participants will get a crash course in Devised Theatre, then each group will be given planning time. Then rehearsals begin! Each group will be given an opportunity to run their show in the performance space and refine their production under the guidance of a theatre professional. The day will culminate in a public adjudicated performance. Feedback will be provided for each production and awards, such as, “best use of accents” or “I'm not sure why but that made me laugh”, will be given out to each show. Kickoff the New Year by experiencing theatre in an entirely new way!

Join us for the creative fun!
