Come visit FUSION | The Cell to see CRAWLING To The LIGHT— And BEYOND from the  Pauline Eaton Collection. Pauline Eaton NWS went through several years of considerable stress after moving from San Diego to San Francisco. The above installation chronicles her feelings and her growth. This introduction to her life and art focuses on the paintings and text of her Crawling to the Light: An Artist in Transition.

In 1946, at eleven years old, Pauline Rogers Friedrich joined an adult watercolor class taught by Jean Thoburns, AWS, at the N.Y. Silver Bay YMCA camp. That same year, she entered a city-wide art contest and won first prize. The art hook was set. She later considered a career as a professional musician or writer. But, in 1974 (age 39), she announced that she had decided to become an artist—and that she would use only pencil & paper for five months to gain complete control of her hands.
