AMP Concerts Presents Lydia Lynch
with opener Jessica Helen Lopez—Albuquerque Poet Laureate, Emeritus
Famed New York City performance artist Lydia Lunch will be doing a short residency at the UNM Department of Theatre and Dance. We'll have a special performance from her at FUSION 708 culminating her visit. Expect participation from local poets and UNM students, making this a special, one-of-a-kind evening!
Lydia Lunch has been touring in a variety of mediums since 1977. In 1982 she began performing and curating spoken word shows in NYC at The Pyramid, The Knitting Factory, The Kitchen, The Performing Garage, La Mama, The Roxy Hotel and numerous other venues. She has appeared live with John Giorno, Hubert Selby Jr, Karen Finley, Jerry Stahl, Wanda Coleman, Henry Rollins, and Last Poet Umar Bin Hassan, to name a few, often arranging shows and booking tours throughout America, Europe and Australia. She has presented workshops for writers throughout the USA and Europe, where she continues to tour with both music and spoken word.
Tickets cost $20 in advance, $25 day of show (plus a $2 service charge). Student tickets cost $10 (plus a $2 service charge). They are also available by phone through Hold My Ticket at 505-886-1251.

Jessica Helen Lopez is City of Albuquerque Poet Laureate, Emeritus and the host of arts-based PBS series, ¡COLORES! She has also been a featured writer for 30 Poets in their 30's by MUZZLE and named one of the "10 Up and Coming Lantinx Poets You Need to Know" by international digital publisher and agency, Remezcla. Lopez is a nationally recognized award-winning slam poet, and holds the title of 2012 and 2014 Women of the World City of ABQ Champion.
