Killer Lloronas and Other Misconstrued Stories
Killer Lloronas and Other Misconstrued Stories is coming to FUSION | 708 from August 14–17, at 7 PM. Five Vignette plays in two acts will recount humorous, dramatic, and traumatizing memories of a young immigrant girl acclimating to her new community while interpreting confusing tropes of both her own culture and that of her new home.
The stories will be performed by The Killer Lloronas (“Killer” ie: something that is extremely good, impressive, or devastating). These mythical women of lore will portray, with compassion and humanity, the characters that shaped our young heroin's misconceptions of her world.
ABOUT KILLER LLORONAS
Thrills, chills, suspense, drama, action, terror, and romance all come together in the retelling of a young, awkward immigrant girl's attempts to assimilate into her new homeland, as she tries to understand the customs and myths of a vast melting pot. The narrators, young misunderstood women of international mythology, add the empathy, humor, sadness, and insight that tie each vignette into a unified tapestry that is a young woman's life. Written and directed by Florangeli Yerxa.
