Fundraiser: The Worst Movie Ever Made

A unique fundraising opportunity is syncing up with FUSION to help build community and creativity—and have FUN doing it! The Worst Movie Ever (WME) is an experimental film production concept with a dadaist, “exquisite corpse” approach. Each and every donor gets to contribute something that the filmmakers have to include in the film. Will you help us? Will you hurt us? You decide! 

This project is centered around the ideas of collaboration, community, and chaos, particularly with regard to the vibrant tapestry of Burqueño culture. It is a filmmaking exercise, an inversion of artistic authority, and a fundraiser for FUSION.

From January 15 (when the fundraiser opens and will be live on this page) through February 15, you can make a donation that will directly benefit FUSION. Each donation tier (starting at $1!) comes with a different perk for your involvement and contribution to The Worst Movie Ever Made.

In concert with the fundraiser, the WME folks will be erecting a giant psychedelic leg created by artists specifically for this initiative at FUSION | 708! The sculpture is planned to be installed on February 6. It will be on view during public FUSION events or by appointment. To schedule an appointment after Feb. 6, Email FUSION.

$1: 1 frame of your choice uploaded into the film 

$5: Writer credit (no writing required)

$20: Upload a sound effect to be used in the film + writer credit 

$50: Write a line of dialogue to be said in the film + writer credit 

$100: Add a handheld prop to the story + writer credit

$150: Add a costume to the story + writer credit

$250: Add a character + executive producer credit + a special STONED director's commentary cut of the film

$500: Jack does whatever you write + writer credit + a copy of the script + executive producer credit + a special STONED director's commentary cut of the film

$1000: One scene in another language of your choice + writer credit + executive producer credit + STONED director’s commentary

$5000: Act in the movie + writer credit + executive producer credit + STONED director’s commentary

THE RULES

• No hateful content of any kind will be tolerated in submissions.

• No pornographic images or prompts will be tolerated in submissions.

• We reserve the right to reject any submissions considered inappropriate.

• If your submission is deemed in violation of the rules, the opportunity will be given to the submitter to revise their submission. If no response is given or you elect not to revise, the submission will be cut and the donation will NOT be refunded.

• The filmmakers are committed to making the film for a near-zero budget, with all profits going to the nonprofit
