FUSION presents the Rising High Boogie Jam
An Official Event of the Rising High Arts Festival
On October 10, we’re taking over FUSION | The Meadow for an all-day mashup of live music, deep grooves, inspiring rhythms, authentic funk, and whatever happens when Albuquerque gets together and decides it’s time to dance.
We’re turning up the volume and letting the good vibes fill the space!
From 3–10 PM, four acts take the stage, bringing their own flavor to one big musical gathering to celebrate community. Mineral Hill will set the journey in motion, then a Unity in Rhythm Drum Circle will invite everyone into the rhythm, BrotherSound will bring the Grateful Dead energy, and One Last Funky Dollar will provide the soul to carry us into the starry night. Come for a song and stay for the experience!
Enjoy a little bit of everything, from jams that make dancing irresistible and rhythms that sink into your bones to the unforgettable moments you can’t easily recreate.
Bring your friends, grab your drink, post up in The Meadow, and let the music take you somewhere unexpected.

Free parking is available in FUSION’s lot next to Burger King on Lomas and is also free along 1st Street after 6 PM (more parking info + map available here).
ABOUT MINERAL HILL
Formed in Albuquerque in 2017, Mineral Hill serves up eclectic, genre-hopping juiciness (country, funky jazz fusion, honky tonk, bossa nova, psychedelia, polka, etc.). Fans call them “the house band at the human dog park.”
Finalists for “Best New Mexico Song,” “Best Bluegrass Song” and “Best Album of the Year” in the 2025 New Mexico Music Awards, Mineral Hill promises a rousing, gloriously nerdy time for all.
Jonathan Mack is a multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter who was born in Nome, Alaska in the dead of winter and has spent the subsequent years trying to get warm. Mack writes and sings Mineral Hill’s “horrendously lovely… gloriously nerdy songs,” which bring everyday experience into rich focus with humor, joy and a willingness to explore the range of human experience. In the words of a fan, “Fantastically bright and dark. Painfully relieving.”
Lauren Addario hits things with sticks. Most frequently drums, but she’s not particular. Her creative, tasteful groove-oriented playing is the heart and lungs that bring each song to life. She takes her timing seriously, particularly when it comes to her 2:00 afternoon coffee and chocolate. (For real; try to stop her and see what happens!)
John Funkhouser is a very tall man who has played music almost continually, with short breaks for sleep, since he was much less tall. He plays keyboard, melodica and sings harmonies. He taught at Berklee College of Music for 20 years, has played jazz around the world, and moved to Albuquerque in 2021. He brings an enormous openness, curiosity and capacity for joy in music.

Drum Unity is an Albuquerque-based company specializing in drum circle events that promote health, rhythm, and community engagement. Founded by Chris Martinez, a professional member of the Drum Circle Facilitators Guild, Drum Unity offers a platform for individuals of all ages to experience the healing and unifying power of drumming.
ABOUT CHRIS MARTINEZ
Chris Martinez is a skilled drum circle facilitator trained in both Remo HealthRhythms and Drumming Sounds methodologies. He is also a professional member of the Drum Circle Facilitators Guild, underscoring his expertise and commitment to the art of drum circle facilitation. As the dynamic drummer for "Elovated Roots," a local reggae band, Chris has been a vibrant contributor to the Albuquerque music scene for many years. Additionally, he channels his passion for rhythm and community engagement through his own venture, Drum Unity, which specializes in organizing drum circle events in Albuquerque. Chris's multifaceted background and local influence make him a pivotal figure in promoting musical unity and wellness through drumming.
ABOUT BROTHERSOUND
BrotherSound is a psychedelic rock and jam band formed by the urging of a mercurial voice inside the psilocybin trance. The band is based in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
