Did you miss IT? We’re excited to announce the ABQ Fermentation and Fungi Festival is back this October and returning to the FUSION campus on Sunday, October 11, from 10 AM–5 PM!

This year, you can look forward to your favorite fungi producers, fermented beverages and foods, hands on demonstrations covering all things fermentation and fungi, educational presentations and of course, our beloved Battle of the Breads Competition! 

We look forward to introducing our ABQ Fermentation & Fungi Festival Community Series; small intimate gatherings where folks can learn, taste, and talk about everything fermentation and fungi related. Look for these taking place May-September, 2026.

Free parking is available in FUSION’s lot and is also free along 1st Street after 6 PM (more parking info + map available here).

BATTLE OF THE BREADS

Are you an amateur baker with sourdough skills? They want YOU for our third annual Battle of the Breads Sourdough Competition at this year’s ABQ Fermentation & Fungi Festival!

Amateurs will compete for first, second, and third place with prizes from professional bakers, festival goodies, and more.

They accept submissions for plain sourdough breads or specialty sourdough breads (including added ingredients like nuts, cheese, olives, etc.).
