Come to FUSION to see “Wall sof Belonging: La Cueva High School Voices” Exhibition.
Walls of Belonging features large-scale 4 x 5 foot canvases created by Painting & Drawing students from La Cueva High School. This exhibition showcases an exploration of public art, murals, and the impact of visual spaces on community experience.
Students studied how murals can transform environments, reflecting culture, identity, and collective values. They learned from local muralist Noe Barnett, who spoke about mural practice, community engagement, and creating art in shared spaces.
Each canvas was designed as a proposal for La Cueva’s hallways, aiming to turn everyday spaces into vibrant, welcoming spaces. The students considered:
● How does environment affect mood and behavior?
● What imagery represents our school community?
● How can art make a space feel alive and inspiring?
The resulting works range from bold graphic designs to symbolic and narrative imagery. Together, they demonstrate technical growth, creativity, and student agency, showing how young artists can actively shape the spaces they inhabit. Walls of Belonging celebrates the power of art to build connection, pride, and a sense of ownership in our shared environments.
All works are part of a permanent public art initiative at La Cueva High School and are not for sale.
