ABOUT BRIAN MELVIN
A native of San Francisco now based in Estonia, Brian Melvin is a percussionist with a legendary resume. He recorded five albums with bass icon Jaco Pastorius, including Standards Zone, and led the fusion project Nightfood featuring Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead.
His credits include collaborations with Joe Henderson, Mike Stern, John Scofield, Michael Brecker, Joe Lovano, and many more. He co-leads Beatlejazz with Grammy-winning pianist David Kikoski, and his group FOG features Jeff Chimenti of Dead & Company.
With roots in the heart of the Bay Area’s improvisational tradition, Brian brings a powerful, authentic voice to the music of the Dead and beyond.

New Mexico’s own Lonn Calanca Band, featuring Tony Orant on Hammond organ and Kelly Wilson on bass, dives deep into the sacred catalog of the Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia Band. Known for their heartfelt delivery, danceable grooves, and fearless improvisation, this band continues to capture the spirit of the music that moves generations.
