Growing up, the funniest people in Joshua Emerson’s life were Indigenous—but when he began pursuing comedy professionally, he noticed a major gap: there just weren’t enough Native comedians represented onstage
That’s how “Bad Indian” was born—a Native American comedy showcase created to develop and highlight Indigenous comedic talent. Hosted by Emerson, “Bad Indian” tours comedy clubs and festivals across the country, including Netflix Is A Joke Fest, SF Sketchfest, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Come experience some of the funniest Indigenous comedians from across New Mexico for a night filled with laughter, storytelling, and culture!
Brought to you by ABQ Arts Hub, the Albuquerque Funny Fiesta is Albuquerque's flagship annual comedy festival featuring stand up comedians, improv troupes, sketch performers, and so much more! We’re creating a space for a diverse community of comedic artists, celebrating everything that makes us laugh, and showcasing what makes Albuquerque amazing. This is the 6th year of the festival.
